-frontierland
-critter country
-new orleans square
-toon town
-un land inédit?

Disney confirme officiellement pour la première fois dans la presse chinoise le projet d'extension.
On y a la confirmation qu'il y aura bien trois nouveaux lands, que les attractions seront centrées sur les jeunes adultes (qui représentent 50% de svisiteurs du parc) ce qui veut sans doute dire attractions à sensation, mais que rien n'est encore signé avec le gouvernement, qu'il faudra sans doute attendre l'année prochaine pour que ce soit finalisé et trois ans pour que tout soit construit. Bref, de bonnes nouvelles, mais j'attendrai encore un peu avant de réserver mon billet d'avion pour Hong Kong

Jan. 26 (Bloomberg) Disney, the world’s largest theme-park operator, stressed it would continue to develop Hong Kong Disneyland. Ernest said visitor numbers at the resort had climbed since posting first- year attendance figures that missed their target.
Opened in September 2005, Hong Kong Disneyland had attracted 14.5 million visitors in its first three years, and showed an 8 percent year-on-year gain in the 12 months ended September 2008, said the resort’s managing director, Andrew Kam. Now more than 15 million have visited the park, he said, adding that he expected the growth trend to continue even as the global crisis deepened.
Double-digit Growth
“Our business continues to go up; right now our business is double-digit growth since our year started in October,” said Ernest. “There is definitely a slowdown in the world and we are aware of that. We are continuing building plans and prepare for that.”
Kam reiterated a plan announced Dec. 23 to expand the resort by one-third to help attract visitors. Walt Disney and the city’s government, which owns a 57 percent equity stake in Hong Kong Disneyland, are in talks about funding the expansion, Kam said last month.
“Expansion is very important because we probably will reach our full capacity pretty soon, so we hope the expansion could begin sometime soon,” Kam said in a separate interview today, without giving details of timing or capacity levels. Ernest said he hoped the work would begin in the first-half of the year.
Ernest said some facilities “unique” to Hong Kong would be included in the new phase, while Kam said a range of exciting products, including fast rides, would be put into the Hong Kong resort as half of the park’s attendants were young adults.
Neither Ernest nor Kam would be drawn on costing for the expansion but a Radio Television Hong Kong report on Dec. 22, that cited the park’s managing director, said it would come in at about half that of a HK$7 billion ($903 million) cruise terminal being planned for the city. Kam said the report was speculative.

Une question quand même: pourquoi la WDC semble ne jamais apprendre de ses erreurs, et les répête inlassablement?

TOUS les parcs récents sans exception, conçus dans un soucis d'économie, ont connu des difficultés financières dans leurs premières années d'exploitation, creusant leurs pertes et appauvrissant l'image de marque de la société. Ce n'est qu'après des tractations longues et harassantes avec les divers parties prenantes, des restructurations financières à gogo, une perte de temps considérable et une injection d'argent non négligeable, que ces parcs ont remonté la pente grâce à une hausse de leur fréquentation... (AK, DCA, WDS, HKDL)

Il ne faut pas être un ingénieur ayant Bac+10 pour comprendre qu'un parc comme Hong-Kong manquait cruellement d'attractions dès son ouverture! En semaine creuse, on peut en faire le tour en une matinée, alors à quoi bon proposer deux hôtels aux visiteurs?

Pour ma part je suis curieux de connaître l'ensemble du plan d'expansion de ce parc. Pour l'instant deux attractions sont confirmées: Grizzly Mine (un mix entre BTM et Expédition Everest) et Mystic Manor (une variation de Haunted Mansion). Vu le budget, on peut s'attendre à quelques autres rides...

Ce qui m'emballe, c'est qu'avec quelques bonnes nouvelles attractions et un nouveau land, ce parc deviendra l'un des plus beaux Magic Kingdom, grâce au cadre enchanteur dans lequel il se trouve... C'est quand même autre chose que la campagne de l'est parisien!

Tout est une question de point de vu. Je n'aime pas du tout la montagne derrière le parc qui casse les perspectives.

Maintenant, il faudra bien plus de 2 E-tickets pour remplir une journée à Hong Kong Disneyland.
Et vu les décors au rabai de ce magic kingdom (Tomorrowland est particuliairement moche), ça ne sera jamais un des plus beaux.

C'est vrai que leur Tommoroland est une horreur. Mais moi les montagnes, je les aime beaucoup.

Quand même, une situation en bord de mer, c'est pas rien... et même si les montagnes brisent l'illusion de Main Street, le cadre n'en demeure pas moins enchanteur.

C'est clair que pour l'instant, ce sont surtout les hôtels et leur cadre (proximité de la mer, promenade avec la superbe fontaine) qui sont enchanteurs.
Mais ce projet d'extension me réjouit d'avance.

Il y a des zones magnifiques (leur Adventureland) et effectivement le cadre avec les montagnes. Mais pour le reste, leur Main Street sans rails de tram, leur château mniature, leur fantasayland à l'ancienne et leur Tomorrowland en toc, c'est pas ça qui va rivaliser avec la splendeur du MK de DLRP (même si c'est vrai que le côté "planté au milieu de la campagne" dégage moins d'exotisme que les autres MK)
